Implementing energy efficiency solutions for large industrial consumers is one of our main areas of expertise, especially in the Middle East, where we have commissioned more than 40MVAr. Depending on the client’s needs, we can either design custom solutions that need to adapt to certain site constraints or work together with reputed manufacturers in order to size, deliver and install their most suitable products.
For the Ar Razi Saudi Methanol Company we delivered, installed, and commissioned 3 medium voltage capacitor banks totaling 7.5MVAR, from the ABBACUS range of Hitachi Energy (ABB).
Due to the client’s requirements, ENEVO Group also designed and implemented a more powerful control solution for the capacitor banks, using National Instruments PLCs, increasing the versatility of the controls, and integrating them into the substations SCADA systems.
The project was commissioned in stages, due to the limited shutdown periods available for each Ar Razi plant. The last bank was successfully commissioned in Summer of 2021.
